Yael Stone, born in Australia, and who moved to New York City in 2013 in the film, played Lorna Mello as an inmate in Orange Is the New Black. Yael has a degree from NIDA. Yael was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Australia's leading storytellers. She's worked behind the scenes on film, television and theatre. Yael has had a long and successful career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael was pleased to have found her new home after the Brooklyn Academy of Music, which was the venue where the production premiered to great acclaim, moved to her new home in New York City. Yael has been a co-founder of The Cannery. The Cannery encourages innovative writing, and creative endeavors in its Bushwick studio.
